Mission
We exist to enhance the capacity of communities and local institutions to address pressing social and economic problems and challenges by providing tailor-made training, monitoring and mentorship services
Objectives:
✓ improving the reproductive health of women, men and adolescents;
✓ reducing the vulnerability of women to gender-based problems and economic hardships caused mainly by customary norms and practices
✓ educating children and adolescents to become responsible citizens to themselves, the community, and the nation at large; and
✓ harmonizing the rate of population growth with environment and sustainable use of natural resources.

Our Work Focuses on Four Core Program Areas
Reproductive Health & Rights
Increasing access to RH services, including family planning (FP) services, reducing the vulnerability of women and girls to gender-based violence and harmful customary practices, and improving their livelihoods.
HIV/AIDS Prevention, Control, Care & Support
Enhancing the capacity of local institutions to coordinate decentralized management of HIV/AIDS program; improving access to HIV/AIDS prevention, care and support; building the competence of volunteers to provide community-based HIV/AIDS prevention and control education; assisting
trained volunteers to promoting HIV/AIDS prevention and control education; and providing psycho-social support to HIV/AIDS affected individuals and families
Child & Youth Education
Providing accelerated learning opportunities for out-of-school primary-school-age children to enable them to join the formal education system and providing vocational training for school drop-out children to help them engage in income generating activities.
Protection of the Natural Environment
Promoting an integrated population, health and environment (PHE) initiative for a harmonized and sustainable approach to natural resource utilization; and Implementing PHE in selected areas to enhance
learning and sharing of good practices.
Local Institution Capacity Building
Enhanced the capacity of:
✓ 312 Wereda HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control Offices (HAPCO) in the management of decentralized HIV/AIDS program
✓172 wereda health offices and 276 PHCUs in health system management of HIV/AIDS program
✓240 grassroots women associations to promote the reproductive health and rights of women and girls
✓ Benefited over 400,000 persons

Our Results

Local Institution Capacity Building
Trained over 9,360 local HIV/AIDS coordinators, reaching 365,000+ beneficiaries.
✓ Empowered 240 grassroots women’s associations, positively impacting 48,000+ women.
✓ Strengthened health systems in 172 weredas and 276 health centers across Amhara and Tigray.
Community-Based Development
✓ Delivered RH/FP, HIV/AIDS, and psychosocial support services to 275,000+ individuals.
✓ Enabled 11,600 children to re-enter the formal education system through accelerated learning.
✓ Supported 9,200 mothers through IGAs to sustain children’s education.
